During the Sunday MWC 2019, Microsoft launched the company’s second mixed reality headset. which is HoloLens 2. This headset is the next generation’s next generation of HoloLens which has made several improvements. This new device has a better display, comfortable design.

Along with this, the company has also launched Azure Kinect in MWC 2019 with HoloLens 2. Microsoft has used the Microelectromechanical system (MEMS) Discipline Technology for HoloLens 2 and also claimed that it works only on 2K display.

The HoloLens 2 uses the Qualcomm Snapdragon 850 Compute Platform as well as a custom built Holographic Processing Unit. Audio input and output have been maintained from a 5-channel microphone array and a built-in spatial audio hardware.

Along with this there is also an Iris scanner for security. USB-Type C port is also given for charging in it. Also 8 megapixels are also given for video conferencing.

Users in HoloLens 2 can interact with holograms in their hands and it is possible due to the ToF sensor that has built-in AI and spatial awareness algorithm. The holograms can be controlled in the device by using the On Tracking and Voice Commands. HoloLens 2 has a flip-up visor design with a dial-in fit design.

Along with this it has advance vapour chamber technology and carbon fiber chassis. Along with HoloLens 2, Microsoft has also removed new software solutions, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Guidelines, designed for First Line Workers.

The company has also launched Azure Kinect, which has been named Azure Kinect Developer Kit (DK). Equipped with the Azure Kinect AI, it also has a ToF sensor, a 12-megapixel RGB camera and a 1 megapixel depth sensing lens. The price of Azure Kinect is $ 399 and it is currently available for prebooking in the United States and China.
